Scary Gauze Ghosts
These realistic frighteners are fun to make and great for decor.
Craft Materials:
- Different size plastic milk jugs or juice bottles.
- Laundry Starch
- Aluminum Foil
- Paper Towels
- White Gauze or Cheesecloth
1. Place a ball of aluminum foil on top of each jug or bottle.
2. cut pieces of gauze into 18 inch squares. Each ghost will use 1 square. Dip the gauze into a bowl filled with starch. Squeeze out excess moisture and place over top of each bottle.
3. Make the shape of shoulders with the aluminum foil. Flare out the ends of the gauze and let sit overnight.
4. After drying over night, lift the dried gauze from the bottles and foil, and ghosts should stand by themselves.

Pop-Sicle Stick Mummies
Create an army of the undead in a matter of minutes with common craft supplies.
Craft Materials:
- Wire Snips
- Wooden Craft Sticks/ Pop-Sicle Sticks
- Wooden Craft Spoons
- Glue
- 1 Square yard of muslin torn into 1 inch wide strips/ gauze can also be used
- Small Googly Eyes
1. With the wire snips, cut 2 of the wooden sticks to 2 1/2 inches for arms and cut 2 more to 3 inches to make the legs. Attach an arm and a leg to each side of the wooden spoon with glue.
2. Attach one end of the muslin or gauze strip to the skeleton with glue and wrap around body, arms, legs, and head. Glue end of strip. More strips may be used for desired thickness. Attach googly eyes with glue.
